Fidelity Flight Simulation, Inc. (F2Si) Wins $36.2M Contract to Build and Deliver the UH-72A Lakota Synthetic Flight Training System (SFTS) Trainer

September 22, 2014

Pittsburgh, PA – U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) has recently awarded F2Si a contract to build and deliver two UH-72A Lakota Synthetic Flight Training System (SFTS) Trainers for the Army National Guard (ARNG). The $10M firm fixed price contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the total contract value to $36.2M.

F2Si will provide the ARNG with a state-of-the-art, fully immersive training system delivered to the Eastern and Western regional Army Aviation Training Sites (EAATS and WAATS). The UH-72A SFTS comprises a 53’ self-contained tractor trailer, housing the UH-72A FTD that will be based on the S&S Battalion MEP configuration. The UH-72A FTD will support institutional, organizational, and sustainment training for Active Component (AC) and Reserve Component (RC) aviation units. It will provide a unique training capability to help commanders achieve and sustain unit proficiency and readiness. It will provide the capability for aviation units to train and sustain the performance of selected critical tasks and will also allow UH-72A qualified aviators to maintain proficiency in high risk tasks. The UH-72A FTD will exceed FAA Level 6 Flight Training Device equivalent.

F2Si, a veteran-owned small business (VOSB), was incorporated in 2000 and has 14 years of experience in domestic, international, and military projects. F2Si has the experience and capability to design, develop, fabricate, assemble, and test simulation systems at its own facility located in Pittsburgh, PA. F2Si has produced more than 50 training devices including EC-135 Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATD), level 6 equivalent T-44C Flight Training Devices (FTD), Unit Training Devices for the U.S. Navy, a P-3K2 Orion FDT for the Royal New Zealand Air Force and RC-12X Cockpit Procedure Trainers (CPTs) for the U.S. Army under PEO-STRI.
