PEO STRI, through Leidos, sub-contract to upgrade two RC-12X CPTs to reconfigurable MC-12S CPTs
Pittsburgh, PA. (September 8th, 2016) - Fidelity Flight Simulation, Inc. (F2Si) has been awarded a sub-contract through prime contractor Leidos, Inc. [NYSE: LDOS] for an upgrade of the Army’s RC-12X Cockpit Procedural Trainer (CPT) to allow the CPTs to be reconfigurable for the MC-12S with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionic suite.
The original RC-12X CPTs were built by F2Si in 2008 under a subcontract relationship with Leidos. . F2Si will upgrade the current CPTs by adding MC-12S functionally to the units with minor software revisions and hardware upgrades. The new architecture will enable the RC-12X to be reconfigured into an operating Rockwell Collins ProLine 21 (MC-12S) cockpit with a quick reconfiguration allowing for increased available training time.
The reconfiguration includes swapping the knee panels, CDUs and removing the Universal Course/Heading and the Universal Cursor Control Panels. The end user will then launch the current RC-12X startup or the MC-12S startup to match the hardware installed.
